Balhannah Mitre 10 is owned and run by Simon and Jodie Henderson. With a combined hardware experience of over 60 years and Mitre 10 business owners for over 15 years.

Simon and Jodie purchased the Balhannah business in 2013 and have since moved it to a much larger building with an undercover trade centre. With this move they were also able to build this beautiful garden centre, complete with a gazebo.

With a great location near the South Eastern Freeway, they are able to not only look after their wonderful loyal locals, but also offer a destination for the day trippers and holiday makers passing through the magnificent Adelaide Hills.

Deb Wicks, Garden Centre Manager, and her husband Peter owned and ran a local wholesale nursery in the hills for over 30 years, and Deb has worked at this hardware business for over 20years. The original land was owned by Peter’s grandfather and was the first private cold storage for fruit in Australia almost 70 years ago. The garden knowledge and passion certainly makes Deb a great asset to the business.

From its start in 1839, Balhannah has been important centre for the Adelaide Hill’s, Valley country’s produce driven economy. From butter and cheese to all types of fruit this town is a wonderful place to visit and explore. A new and bright addition to the town’s landscape is the recently renovated Balhannah Mitre 10, that attracts both tourists and locals alike.

One place I always like checking out, wherever I go is the local garden centre and this store has a beauty. Plenty of choice and plenty of plants. Definitely a ‘must stop’ location when you are next passing.
