Without doubt, birds make brilliant pets, and there’s one little Aussie icon that has taken my fancy.

Budgerigars are native to Australia and are the world’s third most popular pet behind dogs and cats. Its little wonder, as they are remarkably attractive, active and attention seeking.

With over 20 colour mutations the variation in their plumage is almost endless.

Some simple things to make your Budgies love you:
– Perches: Natural wood with a variety of diameters (from 1.5cm upwards).
– Place perches at each end of the cage to encourage flight.
– Budgies are very inquisitive – add and change over ‘toys’ (include plants and sticks) plus give them a multiple number of feeding dishes.
– Change food and water regularly.

Clean the cage!

Budgies might just be man’s next new best friend. They certainly add life and song to the home. You can’t help but love them.
