One plant that certainly stirs memories of old style gardens is the hydrangea.

Water restrictions and droughts have seen the popularity of these wonderfully leaf and flower filled plants wain over the past decade. Thankfully, there has been a recent resurgence in sales thanks to the new new ‘Tea Time’ hydrangreas. Smaller growing, makes them ideal pot specimens. Coming in a range of pinks, blues and whites, these make ideal plants for shaded areas like patios and verandahs.

A great companion plant are Heucheras – Sugar Plum, Obsidian & Black Taffeta are worth checking out.
