Visitors to Adelaide Botanic Gardens over the past few years would have seen some major changes near the iconic Bi-Centennial Conservatory.

The once open sweeps of lawn have been transformed into a vibrant space incorporating a functioning wetland, sustainably designed landscape and a brilliant place for children to explore the wonderful world of gardening.

The Little Sprouts Kitchen Garden is already changing the way children experience plants.

Pip Robinson & Monina Gilbey are the very special people who make this garden, and the little sprouts who use it, fun and plant loving.

The Little Sprouts Kitchen Garden Visiting Program at the Adelaide Botanic Garden is available for early years groups from schools and pre-schools across South Australia.

This program has been designed to align with the National Early Years Learning Framework. It provides children aged three to six years with hands on experiences in an engaging outdoor learning environment.

Children will undertake activities that utilise play and exploration, exciting their natural sense of wonder and engaging all the senses.

The Kitchen Garden will showcase the benefits of growing fresh, healthy produce to the whole community instilling healthy habits from a young age.

The general public are welcome to visit the Little Sprouts Kitchen Garden when sessions are not being held.

The secret to maintaining such a bountiful garden is the soil and products that help include:

Neutrog GOGO Juice
– essentially a pro-biotic for your soil and plants, GOGO Juice is teeming with beneficial microbiology. It combines the “catalystic” power of the billions of beneficial bacteria with the well documented benefits of applying kelp, seaweed, fish, humic acid and manure. Providing soil with the “workers” (beneficial bateria) that assist in breaking down the organic matter, maximising the nutrients available to your plants.

Neutrog Gyganic is a specifically developed fertilizer which enhances uniform fruit, flower and vegetable production and quality.
Gyganic is an organic based, chemically boosted, biological, complete fertiliser with the full range of nutrients in an organic form, coupled with chemically boosted levels of Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), Iron (Fe) and Magnesium (Mg).
