We all like having our gardens looking full and lush, but what happens when our trees get mixed up with the power lines?

When was the last time you checked the power lines in your garden?

Potential problems of vegetation touching a power line, is that it can wear through the conductors and short them out – even cause an explosion.

So we encourage you to get outside and check your lines, before the lights go out!

Homeowners would have to be highly careful when clearing the vegetation, but in most cases, especially when vegetation is touching the lines, getting a professional in is recommended.
If you are planning to trim or remove trees near power lines please see our fact sheet on the SA Power Networks website (below) or call them on 13 12 61 for tree-trimming information.
