Banner Mitre 10 Glenelg is a fantastic example of the rise in independent hardware stores with extensive and impressive garden sections! Kim takes us in for a look!

We may not be seeing as many independent garden centres as we used to, but what we are seeing is more independent hardware stores with extensive garden sections full of plants, products, and that essential advice to make it all work!

Kim takes us to Banner Mitre 10 Glenelg on Anzac Highway, a great example of a hardware store with a green heart.

Kim chats with Garden Centre Manager David Payne who has the best job! He’s been working with plants for over 20 years and has the vast experience to make sure you get the right plants and best advice.

David tells us what’s happening in the autumn garden, gives tips on what to do with struggling plants, and takes us through some plants that are perfect for planting this time of year such as violas, cyclamens, chrysanthemums and the ever popular gerberas.

David takes Kim through the vast range of pots available at the store including a great array of Northcote pots in vibrant colours. David shows us a range of deceptively light pots with a stone appearance, self-watering pots, the popular classic terracotta pots, and even a pot on wheels! David recommends you grab some pots, place your selected plants in them, then mix and match until you find the right combination!

There are plenty of Banner Mitre 10 stores to visit – Glenelg, Blackwood, Norwood, Mt Barker, plus 3 country stores – not only for their fantastic array of plants, but also for that all important garden advice. David always encourages people to come in and ask questions, he and his team at Banner Mitre 10 Glenelg are always more than happy to help!
